TRAUMA INFORMED RESPONSE TO PERSONS IN CRISIS (Advanced CIT)

The course will help participants use trauma informed response to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Trauma-informed responses help first responders avoid re-traumatizing individuals, increase safety for all involved, and support treatment and recovery of individuals with mental health concerns. The course will cover the definition, types and long term effects of trauma. It will explore how prior or current trauma can impact mental health, and how to use trauma informed approaches to de-escalate people in crisis.

Free training:  2 hours of Continuing Professional Training (CPT) for law enforcement in collaboration with the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and the Medina County Prosecutor. 2 hours of Continuing Education for Counselors and Social Workers.
